What qualifies me to write a review about a reMarkable 2 case?

I’ve been using the reMarkable 2 and various cases for the past three years.  During this time, I’ve been using my reMarkable 2 nearly constantly in my personal and professional lives.  As the owner of EffectivExec, I’m constantly looking for ways to maximize my tech (e.g., reMarkable or Whoop) to make my life better and more impactful.

Recent usage / testing of the CoBak case

I recently tested this reMarkable case on a business trip to visit two of our manufacturing facilities.  During this trip, I used the case (with reMarkable inside) on airplanes, in cars (not while driving), during various meetings, and on Gemba walks throughout the factories.

Comparison between CoBak and Type Folio reMarkable Covers

Exterior of CoBak reMarkable 2 cover

The CoBak cover is available in 17 different colors and patterns to fit every style (clearly mine is relatively conservative with green). The polyurethane cover has a bit of texture to it and reminds me of the exterior on the Type Folio, though a bit slicker. Overall, the outer material seems like it will hold up well to the stresses of business travel.

The binding lip around the outside of the top cover is a bit larger than that found on the Type and Book Folio covers from reMarkable.  This flimsy lip is a little larger than necessary, but fits well around the rest of the case’s exterior

The back of the CoBak cover has a hard plastic rim, which seems to provide additional protection for the tablet.  There is also a cutout on the back so that when opened, the stylus is easy to remove.  Unlike other cases (including the other CoBak model with stand and hand grip), this folio does not feature a stand or handhold.

The bottom and top of the case also have cutouts for easy access  to the power button and USB-C charging port.

Interior of CoBak reMarkable 2 cover

The interior of the front cover has a velvet-like material that is soft to the touch.

On the tablet side, the hard plastic shell fits well around the reMarkable 2.  There is a special cutout for a reMarkable Marker or Marker Plus (by the device’s magnet).

The low profile of both the cover and the tablet make for a very acceptable writing situation.

Special features

This case has a cutout between the exterior wall and the tablet to protect your EMR stylus.  While I’ve seen other reMarkable cases that have sleeves for your Marker or Marker Plus, this is the only one that doubles up it’s grip on the stylus (magnet + exterior protection).

Additionally, the CoBak reMarkable cover features a small plastic tube that lives inside the case (and just below the stylus holder).  This is for carrying extra EMR Nibs in a secure fashion. This is again a feature that I’ve not seen on other reMarkable cases or folios.

Review of CoBak reMarkable 2 cover

I have been extremely impressed with the CoBak reMarkable 2 cover, especially as it relates to protecting my reMarkable Marker Plus and it’s light weight.  When I first purchased this cover, I wasn’t sure how great it was going to be due to it’s low price (~$30).  After much use, this will be a regular cover on my reMarkable 2 (especially when I don’t need the heavier Type Folio capabilities).
