reMarkable users should delete unneeded notebooks and pages to maintain the ability to easily find documents and focus while using the device.
Who is this reMarkable guide for?
This guide is for reMarkable 2 users who are interested in cleaning up or simplifying their files. One of the most compelling parts of the reMarkable experience is the ability to focus on your priorities. So removing excess files or Notebook pages should allow you to keep those important tasks and projects at the forefront.
Why should users delete on remarkable 2?
Removing excess or completed content is part of a good macro work flow because it allows us to maximize the reMarkable 2’s limited hard drive. Additionally, removing or filing reMarkable notebooks helps keep the home screen focused on the notebooks or documents that you use regularly.
I recommend cleaning up your file structure monthly, or at a minimum, doing a beginning of year cleanse to organize yourself for the coming annum.
Additionally, the search tool is notoriously limited on the reMarkable, so removing or filing unneeded files can make it a little easier to locate notebooks on the device.
Two types of deleting on reMarkable 2
There are two main types of deleting on the reMarkable 2 – removing a single page from a document and deleted the document altogether.
Deleting pages within a notebook, PDF or EPUB
Step 1 – To delete a single page or multiple pages in a document on the reMarkable 2, open the document in question.
Step 2 – Then open the page view (2×2 of squares at the bottom of the menu)
Step 3 – Long-press the page you’d like to delete. If you want to delete more than one page, tap the other pages after the initial long press.
Step 4 – Select the ‘Delete’ icon at the top right of the black bar
Step 5 – Confirm your decision to delete. Note: there is not a way to restore the page once deleted
You’re done! Great work!
This technique also works on PDFs and EPUBs (for those of you using your reMarkable as an e-reader)
