Traveling can leave you without the normal conveniences of home, and using your smartphone is no different. A travel smartphone stand can make it easier to view movies or your calendar while in a remote office or on flights. Below we’ll review the pros and cons of the JSAUX travel phone stand.

Why should you be interested in a review from me?
I’ve been working in travel and hybrid remote roles for the past decade, all of which have required signifigant business travel. During that time, I’ve sought the best solutions to increase my effectiveness and find a sense of balance. I’ve been testing the JSAUX phone stand for the past few months both at home and on the road.
Why would a business traveler use a phone stand?
At it’s most basic, a travel stand allows a business traveler to view their phone at new angles without having to hold it. Below are a few use cases for a smartphone stand:

- Watch movies or shows on a flight (make sure to pair with some noise canceling headphones)
- To display content or video during a MS Teams or Zoom call (pro tip: use the mute / unmute feature on your Apple AirPods to avoid background noise)
- As a clock / headsup display while using a laptop or reMarkable tablet (I’m a big fan of using it while using my Type Folio)
- If paired with a charging cable, as a stand for Apple’s StandBy mode on an iPhone
- Hold the phone during an instructor led workout or guided meditation on Peleton
- To display a stop watch next to a laptop during an important presentation
Overview of the JSAUX smartphone stand
The JSAUX phone stand is constructed of aluminum and features a center axle that allows it to fold down to slightly larger than a credit card. The design leverages the lever principle with a long section to balance the phone and a small cliff to hold the phone.
The portion where the phone sits features rubber accents that serve to increase friction as well as keep the phone from bouncing against the hard metal exterior of the stand. There are also small “feet” that keep the bottom of the phone from sliding out. Between the feet, is a cutout that allows a charging cable to connect to the bottom of an iPhone or Android smartphone.
The folding design allows the user to adjust the angle at which you view the phone. Additionally, the feet allow the phone to be placed in an upright or sideways fashion.
Dimensions: 5.3 x 3.1 x 0.25 inches
Weight: 3.7 oz

Pros of the JSAUX Phone Stand
The design works well for it’s intended purpose of holding a phone. I really like the ability to adjust the angle of viewing.
The rubber feet hold my iPhone 14 Pro well, even during turbulence on a flight. The compact design isn’t much bigger than the phone, so it doesn’t take up excessive space.
The folding design makes this case easy to pack up and store in a briefcase when not in use.
Finally – this price point is excellent. At ~$10, this phone stand is an inexpensive upgrade to holding your phone while on the move.
Cons of the JSAUX Phone Stand
The main drawback of the JSAUX smartphone stand is it’s weight. I like to minimize the weight of my briefcase and this case is a bit on the heavy side (which is due to it’s solid construction).
Other than weight, the only other downside to the JSAUX Smartphone Stand is that it doesn’t perfectly integrate charging (wireless or wired) into the stand. That’s a bit of an unrealistic expectation at this price point, but it’s worth calling out.
Final review of the JSAUX Smartphone Stand
Overall, I’d highly recommend the JSAUX Smartphone stand for business travelers that have an occasional need to hold their phone while performing other tasks. If you are looking for a desk phone stand that’s more full featured, you might want to check out the Iniu Wireless Desk Charger.
