I’ve been using the reMarkable 2 paper tablet daily for over two years. I use both of these styli every single week and I feel that I’ve got a good perspective on the advantages and disadvantages of each. I’m passionate about finding tools that make me more effective as an executive while not breaking the bank on cost. As I realized my need for a backup stylus for my reMarkable 2, I needed to compare the Marker Plus vs Staedtler Noris Digital Jumbo.

reMarkable Marker Plus overview

The reMarkable Marker Plus is the upgraded version of the OEM’s defacto stylus for the reMarkable 2 paper tablet. The pencil features replaceable tips (also known as nibs), a built in magnet, and an eraser. Like all EMR pencils / styli, the Marker Plus does not need to be charged and obviously works natively with your reMarkable 2 tablet.

Staedtler Digital Jumbo (model 180J 22) overview

The Noris Digital Jumbo is also an upgraded version of a similar stylus, but also differs greatly in shape / hold size. The Staedler Noris Digital Jumbo is an EMR stylus, meaning it works natively with the reMarkable 2 paper tablet and also includes an eraser. The pencil does not have a magnet for attachment but is an interesting triangle shape, which is great for writing and staying put when not in use.

In summary, both the reMarkable Marker Plus and Staedtler Noris Digital Jumbo EMR pencils work extremely well on the reMarkable 2 tablet. To be, the decision comes down to three key factors – attachment, price, and writing experience. While the reMarkable Marker Plus excels in terms of magnetic attachment to the reMarkable 2 and writing feel, the lower price of the Noris Digital Jumbo makes it the winner in my eyes. That said, either stylus is excellent and you won’t be disappointed.
